Growing up in a small village near a nature conservancy in central Zimbabwe, Dexter spent his childhood exploring the great outdoors – leopards, hippos and antelopes always close by. Witnessing first-hand the benefits of tourism and conservation for rural communities strengthened his wish to become a tour guide. Since 2005 he has guided travellers across southern and eastern Africa and speaks a number of languages including South Africa’s Zulu, Xhosa, Venda, Pedi and most of the regional languages of southern Africa, as well as Swahili and English. Dexter wants to share with you the African Story of life on this great continent, telling you about cultural, historical and social contexts. He appreciates the curiosity of his guests and being a wildlife expert he is keen to scout for game in Kruger, Addo and Hluhluwe-iMfolozi National Parks.
